September 30, 2006 - Purcellville, Virginia

Barbara Austin Design was hired to redesign the retail showroom of American Chimney in Purcellville, VA. Not only did the owner’s want a new look but also expanded into part of Mario’s Restaurant. This provided much more room to expand with new vignettes and increase showroom product. Owners Lenah and Russ Cox asked for and received a new showroom that showcased the warmth and importance of how their fireplaces would look and feel in your home.

Candice Olson recently visited with local interior designers at Norwalk's unveiling of her new furniture line. Barbara was able to get some inside designer techniques from Candice's show on HGTV, Divine Design. During her visit Candice went over how the show worked- how she worked with clients on the show and how she decided to share her furniture line exclusively with Norwalk. During his recent visit to Norwalk Furniture in Sterling, Barbara Austin, Design Chair of the Loudoun Arts Council Designer Showhouse had the opportunity to lunch with Joe Ruggerio, from HGTV's "Homes Across America".

While having a private conversation, Barbara discussed her strategies for using Ruggiero's "Hardwick" chair in Champaign Sunbrella (shown in the photo below) in her recent Morning Room design of the Designer Showhouse, in April 2005.

Barbara, along with other private guests, enjoyed the unveiling of Ruggiero's new fabric line, at Norwalk Furniture, to the metro Washington market. Norwalk is the exclusive merchant for Joe Ruggiero's private collection of furniture.
